Marijuana Is Not Harmless

Along with cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine, marijuana is still considered as being one of the primary drug threats in the US according to the DEA. It is also one of the most frequent and earliest abused substances among younger users and teenagers.

Although it is not viewed as a serious public health threat like the other 3 substances, health organizations and medical professionals have not taken their focus off marijuana. The question “is marijuana addictive?” oftentimes arises and the answer is only speculative at best. However, there are two schools of thought regarding this question as well as the drug’s characteristics.

Certain groups who do not view marijuana as being potentially addictive still feel that it is abused heavily by some and is what is known as a “gateway” drug. In other words, it is a substance that can lead to using more powerfully addictive ones. Again, all of this is based on speculation and there is no proof to substantiate this. This is not to say that certain health issues will not arise when you are using marijuana in recreational fashion.

Our Marijuana Dependency Experience

The staff members here at Blu By the Sea have a thorough knowledge of how marijuana functions when being used medicinally or recreationally. We also know what is involved in overcoming any dependencies that may have developed from its continual use. As a result, we have developed marijuana drug rehab programs that have the highest recovery success rates in the US. It is what we refer to as a “get off and stay off” proven rehab program.

Granted, marijuana displays many short-term side effects but you need to be aware of the long-term ones as well. From a health standpoint, you can experience some longer lasting effects in addition to short-term memory loss. It also has the tendency to interfere with your concentration whenever you are trying to focus on something. These other side effects include:

  • Anxiety disorders and panic attacks
  • Chest and respiratory illnesses
  • Dependency and withdrawal (when stopping usage)
  • Elevated blood pressure and heart rate
  • Increased risk of cancer and chronic lung infections

Our marijuana drug rehab program here at Blu By the Sea employs certain elements of our New Life Purification Program, namely exercise, sauna treatments, and vitamins. The benefit to you as the client is the results that these produce such as:

  • Being able to concentrate and think clearly
  • Having a greater enthusiasm for living
  • Improved attention span and memory
  • Increased energy levels
  • Increased feelings of well-being
  • Reduction or elimination of alcohol and drug cravings
  • Reduction or elimination of symptoms associated with alcoholism and drug addiction
